Even after the conclusion of the e-healthy ship project, the ZfAM research team is committed to health prevention and improving health care for international crews in merchant shipping. Donations are very helpful for this work.
The "crewhealthy" learning platform developed within the e-healthy ship project is attracting interest from the maritime industry.

The last round! On 16 December 2021, the final event of e-healthy ship took place. Due to the Corona pandemic, it was not possible to invite participants to Hamburg as planned. However, all project partners came together online once again.
When over 150 Kiribati seafarers were stuck in Hamburg between October 2020 and November 2021 due to the Corona pandemic, they get a visit from the e-healthy ship team.
A difficult year ist coming to an end for the e-healthy-ship project. The ongoing corona pandemic had a significant impact on the planning of the intervention phase and sea voyages in 2020 (and will also have in 2021). One thing is certain: Health prevention and e-learning for seafarers are becoming more important than ever.
Another joint e-healthy ship project year is coming to an end.
We would like to take this opportunity to look back on the milestones achieved in 2019 and to provide an outlook for 2020.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the University of Hamburg, the city will become a campus from 20-23 June 2019. e-healthy ship will be present at the Rathausmarkt. Our Lead Partner ZfAM will present the project on Friday, 21 June 2019 from 11:00 am to 11:45 am.
The ISMH Conference 2019 on 12-15 June 2019 focused on "Sea, port, health & environment". Our e-healthy ship project was part of it!
The sea voyages of the e-healthy ship scientific team were filmed. The video is now finished and gives interesting insights into the examinations of the seafarers on board the merchant ships.
In the third quarter of 2018, a number of articles were published about our e-healthy ship project that we would like to share with you.
In September 2018, another test ship was visited: The third sea voyage took place on a bulk carrier. The data collection differed significantly from the two commercial vessels visited before.
The health status examinations of seafarers on merchant ships were continued on another test ship. The second sea voyage took place in July 2018.
In May 2018, the first sea voyage took place on a container ship. The aim was to examine the state of health of seafarers (nutrition, fitness, sleep quality, etc.).
